Sony 360 Reality Audio Immersive Listening Experiences

Objective

Showcase Sony’s new immersive audio technology by allowing audio pros and music lovers to come together to experience the future of sound in multiple, unique interactive events.

Execution

Sony Pictures

Hosted at the immersive studio at the Sony Pictures lot in Culver City, CA, attendees were invited to sit/dance in an immersive speaker installation coupled with stunning visuals surrounded by colorful, vibey lighting. Presentations were also held by creators and producers to explain the technology and music created for the experience

EastWest Studios

Hosted at the iconic EastWest Studios in Hollywood, CA, this event quadrupled in scale from the previous event as Sony’s largest immersive installation ever produced. In partnership with EastWest Studios and speaker maker, Kali Audio the event took over the EastWest recording studios to showcase Sony’s immersive 360 Reality Audio software as well as their Virtual Mixing Environment within both speaker and headphones demonstrations. With over 250 people in attendance, guests enjoyed food by local catering, multiple lounges, and bars sponsored by Diadori Vodka and BREZ social tonics.

Results & Impact

The events were considered a huge success by Sony and their partners in Sony’s vision to test their new technology, get feedback from the public and create content for news and media channels. The artists involved also additionally were able to gather new fans and increase engagement to their music on various streaming platforms.
